GABOR MATÉ \nWe’re excited to share that Compassion Prison Project is featured in the upcoming film “The Wisdom of Trauma” highlighting the work and wisdom of Dr. Gabor Maté. Compassion Prison Project’s Founder Fritzi Horstman also participates as an expert guest speaker during the 7-day world premiere. \n\n\n\n\nTrauma is the invisible force that shapes our lives. It shapes the way we live\, the way we love and the way we make sense of the world. It is the root of our deepest wounds.  Dr. Maté gives us a new vision: a trauma-informed society in which parents\, teachers\, physicians\, policy-makers and legal personnel are not concerned with fixing behaviors\, making diagnoses\, suppressing symptoms and judging\, but seek instead to understand the sources from which troubling behaviors and diseases spring in the wounded human soul. \nFritzi will be speaking as part of the movie premiere event on A Vision for Compassionate Prison with Nneka Jones Tapia and Dr. Gabor Maté. \nThis talk will explore: \n\nHow prisons perpetuate trauma\nThe outdated judicial paradigm\nPrison as a sanctuary\n\nRegistration is open for a limited time. DESCRIPTION:Our circles follow the format you’ve seen in Step Inside the Circle with enhanced modifications to work well in the Zoom environment. Whether you want to train as a facilitator or just participate in a Compassion Trauma Circle\, you will undoubtedly find this time to be very worthwhile. Please note\, everyone attending is a participant of the circle. There are no observers or auditors. This is not a “How to be a trainer” session\, it’s an actual participation circle. It will be approximately 3.5 to 4 hours long\, with breaks and setup as follows: \n\n\n\nPart 1 –  Introductions and Connections\nPart 2 – Adverse Childhood Experiences Survey and Discussion\nPart 3 – Symptoms of Trauma Presentation and Discussion\nPart 4 – Integration Modalities\n\n\nPlease note\, everyone attending is a participant of the circle. There are no observers or auditors. The circle is a safe environment of equals.
