Compassion Ambassador
Brief info
Becky Kribs is a retired teacher, yogi, and artist, fulfilling her dream of living and organic gardening in the wilderness of northern Ontario, Canada. A volunteer with the True Freedom Writers of Deer Park Monastery, Becky has been mentoring incarcerated friends since 2015, and also transcribes stories for the American Prison Archives. Her brother’s suicide after incarceration in an Ontario prison in 1984, was a catalyzing event that ultimately shifted the focus of her life and career. Her own healing from Complex PTSD through Mindfulness has lead to the development of her passion for helping others; especially those without a voice in the legal system. Becky has an honours BA in Communication from the University of Ottawa and a Bachelor of Arts Education from the University of Regina and is both humbled and elated to be a part of the Compassion Prison Project.
