“The Wisdom of Trauma” Rebroadcast

FEATURING DR. GABOR MATÉ

We want to invite you to join us October 4‒10 for a special movie broadcast of The Wisdom of Trauma and a new Talks on Trauma Part 2 series that features Dr. Gabor Maté in conversation with 33+ guests including Bessel van der Kolk, MD, Jewel, Jamie Lee Curtis, Richard Schwartz, Ashley Judd, and many more inspiring souls.

Trauma is the invisible force that shapes our lives. It shapes the way we live, the way we love and the way we make sense of the world. It is the root of our deepest wounds. Dr. Maté gives us a new vision: a trauma-informed society in which parents, teachers, physicians, policy-makers and legal personnel are not concerned with fixing behaviors, making diagnoses, suppressing symptoms and judging, but seek instead to understand the sources from which troubling behaviors and diseases spring in the wounded human soul.

The initial release of The Wisdom of Trauma movie attracted over 4,000,000 views and helped bring to the forefront the impact of trauma in our world.
The new Talks on Trauma Part 2 series explores how trauma relates to parenting, chronic pain, the medical paradigm, the climate crisis, politics, spirituality, and more. More importantly, it looks at how people are learning to work with and use trauma as a pathway for personal and collective growth and healing.
Here are some startling facts about trauma in our world:
  • One in five Americans are diagnosed with mental illness in any given year.
  • Suicide is the second most common cause of death in the US for youth aged 15-24. It kills over 800,000 people a year globally.
  • Drug overdose kills 80,000 in the USA annually.
  • The autoimmune epidemic affects 24 million people in the USA alone.

Registration is open for a limited time. Watch the trailer and sign-up to watch the movie here.

*With this film, we hope to touch many people, begin a conversation, and develop a common understanding about how trauma impacts our individual lives, communities and society as a whole.*
