Day 29 - Forgiveness

When we forgive, we make space to realize that there is something within us that is more important than this hurtful experience, we are free to let go of the past and move on with our lives. As we forgive others, we are teaching the mind to respond with forgiveness everywhere, even to the misdeeds and mistakes of our own past.

Reflection
  • When we forgive, we are not condoning harmful behavior, we are opening our hearts to the humanity of those we forgive.
  • Think of a time when someone wronged you and you were able to forgive them.
  • How did it feel?
  • How did your forgiveness impact the relationship?
  • Now think of a time when someone forgave you.
  • How did it feel to be forgiven?
Action
  • Today, write a letter of forgiveness to someone who hurt you.
  • You don’t have to mail it unless you want to.
  • Share your story of forgiveness with someone.
