Day 19 - Acceptance
Today, choose to accept yourself as you are. See yourself as unique, loving, capable and bright. By accepting yourself just as you are, you are modeling nonviolence.
Reflection
- How can you find acceptance for yourself?
- How can finding acceptance for yourself help you find acceptance for others?
- Are there people you accept fully without judgment or criticism?
Action
- Write down one thing about yourself that you struggle to accept.
- Imagine hugging this part of yourself, as if it were a small child.
- Get in touch with any pain or shame you feel and imagine sending love to this part of yourself.
"Sometimes, in order to be happy in the present moment, you have to be willing to give up hope for a better past."
Robert Holden
“The first step toward change is awareness. The second step is acceptance.”
Nathaniel Branden
“Acceptance looks like a passive state, but in reality it brings something entirely new into this world. That peace, a subtle energy vibration, is consciousness.”
Eckhart Tolle
“Acceptance doesn't mean resignation; it means understanding that something is what it is and that there's got to be a way through it.”
Michael J. Fox
“As I get older, the more I stay focused on the acceptance of myself and others, and choose compassion over judgment and curiosity over fear.”
Tracee Ellis Ross
“Tolerance, compromise, understanding, acceptance, patience - I want those all to be very sharp tools in my shed.”
CeeLo Green
