Day 47 - Compassion

Compassion is the capacity within each of us that makes it possible for other people’s suffering to affect us as though it were our own. Compassion is the force that binds every human being to each other and to the mystery of creation. When we experience a reaction that causes us to help another, with no motivation other than that person is in need, that is compassion in action.

Reflection
  • Can you be compassionate and angry, hurt or upset at the same time?
  • Do you feel more compassion for certain people or groups than others?
  • If so, consider the reason that you feel more or less compassionate toward certain people or groups.
Action
  • Remember that everyone goes through difficult things in their lives.
  • We all need compassion and support.
  • Today, offer your support to someone who needs it.
  • Write about how it felt to show someone compassion.
