Day 25 - Friendliness
Every time you are friendly toward another, you help break down the wall of separation and you contribute to nonviolence. Strangers are friends we haven’t met yet. View those you encounter today in that light.
Reflection
- What does friendliness mean to you?
- What challenges do you face around becoming more friendly?
- What actions can you take to be a friendlier person?
Action
- Make a list of 3 acts of kindness you could do that would be a gesture of friendship towards someone you don’t know well.
- Do one of them today.

“If you treat people with dignity, respect and friendliness, you can turn enemies into friends. An enemy is nothing but a friend in disguise.”
Ted Turner
“Friendship is a relationship, friendliness is a state of your being. You are simply friendly; to whom, that is not the point.”
Rajneesh
“Compassion for ourselves gives rise to the power to transform resentment into forgiveness, hatred into friendliness, and fear into respect for all beings.”
Jack Kornfield
“Undisturbed calmness of mind is attained by cultivating friendliness toward the happy, compassion for the unhappy, delight in the virtuous, and indifference toward the wicked.”
Patanjali
“The more compassionate you are, the more generous you can be. The more generous you are, the more loving friendliness you cultivate to help the world.”
