Day 64 - Release
Release the hurts, resentments, mistakes and fears of the past. In the presence of a man or woman in whom all fear has been released, no one can be afraid. This is the power of true nonviolence, as we can see in the lives of Gandhi and King. Because they had released all hostility, they were a profound force for peace. Release the weight of your past, the judgments of yourself and others, and be the change you wish to see. You really do make a difference in our world.
Reflection
- Today, reflect on what you would need to release in order to grow your practice of nonviolence.
Action
- Create a drawing that includes words and phrases of old judgments and ideas that you are ready to release.
- What are you ready to replace these ideas and judgements with?
- Share your thoughts with a friend today.

“I always get to where I am going by walking away from where I have been.”
Winnie the Pooh
“Bitterness imprisons life; love releases it.”
Harry Emerson Fosdick
“We have to continue to learn. We have to be open. And we have to be ready to release our knowledge in order to come to a higher understanding of reality.”
Thich Nhat Hanh
“Feeling compassion for ourselves in no way releases us from responsibility for our actions. Rather, it releases us from the self-hatred that prevents us from responding to our life with clarity and balance.”
Tara Brach
“Guilt is the worst demon to bear, and it will keep you in never-ending turmoil. Learn to let it go!”
Zane Baker
“Sometimes it’s in the letting go that we find ourselves and the path we were meant to be on all along.”
