My favorite part about the Compassion Prison Project is the positive energy, and guidance on self-reflection and empathy. The most important thing I have learned is how important having compassion is to being a civilized human being in society. It has helped me to listen and put myself in others’ shoes. Also, it has encouraged me to be more open and expressive. I would recommend this program because prison life and the world not only impair one's ability to socialize, but even worse, the culture makes one turn off emotions -- in particular compassion and empathy. So we all need this sort of self-help to re-nourish and restore this human quality.
