Brief info

David Flattery spent more than 30 years working in science, manufacturing, and strategy at DuPont, where he led teams, launched technologies, and tackled big-picture challenges around supply chains, manufacturing, and international trade. He also served as president of a DuPont subsidiary focused on bringing OLED display technology to market.
These days, David is focused on giving back. He serves on the boards of United Way of Santa Barbara County and the Humanist Society of Santa Barbara, where he also acts as Treasurer. In 2022, he and his wife Judy were introduced to the realities of mass incarceration—and everything changed. They organized a conference on prison reform and soon after joined Compassion Prison Project inside a California prison. Since then, they’ve spent time in 15 state prisons, listening, learning, and supporting programs that bring healing to those who are incarcerated.
David believes that people can change—and that when we create environments of safety, support, and accountability, real transformation is possible.
